Last week, the entire Molde office traveled to Nyhamna for our quarterly contract meeting with Shell. The day gave us the opportunity to review the status and experiences of the collaboration, and to meet our own employees at the facility.
The quarterly meetings are an important part of the collaboration with Shell, where we review the status together, share experiences and look at what lies ahead. The meetings rotate between Shell locations and our own offices, so that we can meet in different parts of the business.
The delegation was divided in two. While part of the team sat in meetings to review status, reporting, future prospects and experiences, the rest had the opportunity to visit our employees at the facility.
TS Group has had personnel at Nyhamna for a number of years, and has been involved in work at the facility since 2006. Today, we have, among other things, employees who are directly affiliated with Shell, in addition to personnel working on behalf of the contractor Aker Solutions. One of our recent major assignments is the BFOU work, which includes the replacement of electrical cables, where we have provided personnel over several years.
It is always nice to meet our people at work and see the unity among those who have been part of the environment at Nyhamna over time. Several have also moved on from assignments through TS Group to permanent positions at Shell. It is good confirmation that we offer an attractive entry into the industry, with good opportunities for further development for both young and experienced people.
After the meetings we gathered the troops for lunch before being given a tour of the site. Roger Nerland expertly guided us through and gave us an insight into the operations – from the pipeline infrastructure coming in from the seabed, to the massive separation tanks. It’s hard to get a good idea of the dimensions of Nyhamna until you’ve actually been there. During our hour-long tour, the gas has already been exchanged six times, and with almost 40% of the UK’s gas needs passing through the pipes – you really get an insight into the scale and complexity of the operations.
Thank you to Shell for a pleasant and eventful day at Aukra. We greatly appreciate these meeting points, which give us the opportunity to follow up on the collaboration, share experiences and at the same time get closer to both the plant and our own employees.
