  • Provides more accurate and uniform preload in all bolts.
  • Reduces the risk of leakage and packing errors.
  • Particularly suitable for large bolts and pressurized systems.
  • Safe and effective method when operational reliability is crucial.

TS Site Services / Hot Tap & Line Stop

Yes. Hot Tap and Line Stop are internationally recognized methods that follow strict safety requirements. TS Site Services conducts risk analyses, integrity checks and pressure calculations before each operation. All work is carried out by certified technicians with extensive experience.

There are many advantages to Hot Tap, including: No downtime, no emissions or product loss, reduced need for rework, shorter planning time and lower costs, and that it is a documented safe and precise method.

Hot Tap is a safe and efficient method for creating a new branch on a pressurized piping system, without downtime and without spillage or loss of product. This makes it possible to expand or change piping systems while the plant is in full operation. The method is used in the process industry, oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical and energy production, among others.

Line Stop is a method of temporarily isolating a section of a piping system using a plug, without reducing pressure or draining the system. This allows repairs, replacements or modifications to be carried out while the rest of the system continues to operate normally.

TS Site Services supplies and customizes Hot Tap Tees and fittings according to pipe size, pressure, temperature and process medium. Fittings can be welded or bolted solutions, adapted for offset drilling and angled drilling and designed for tank wall drilling and special geometries.

All equipment is dimensioned according to current standards and requirements for integrity in the piping system.

TS Site Services offers Line Stop solutions for low, medium and high pressure systems. All operations are calculated and designed by our own engineers according to current standards and adapted to the plant's operating situation.

We can deliver the service throughout the country, both onshore and offshore, regardless of the location of the facility or installation. TS Site Services also has experience in delivering internationally, and we take on assignments outside Norway's borders.

  1. A tee or fitting is installed on the pipe.
  2. A valve is installed and tested for tightness.
  3. The Hot Tap machine drills through the valve while the piping system is pressurized.
  4. The drill bit is retracted, the valve is closed – and a new connection is ready.

TS Site Services' technicians carry out the operation in close collaboration with the customer's personnel, with a focus on safety and minimal strain on production.

The combination makes it possible to perform complex interventions on active systems without shutting down production. The Hot Tap establishes the branch, while the Line Stop inserts the plugging tool that creates a pressure-proof isolation.

There are many reasons to choose TS Site Services, among them: Certified technicians and engineering support, onshore and offshore mobilization, customized solutions for complex, pressurized systems, and documented and proven procedures.

Hot Tap is ideal when production cannot be stopped, when redesigning piping systems would be costly, when quick changes or new connections are needed and when branching must be established before a Line Stop operation.

Common applications for Hot Tap are Tie-ins and new branches, by-pass installations, valve assembly, installation of sensors, probes and instrumentation, and expansions and new construction of piping systems.

Typical situations are when replacing or repairing valves, repairing or removing pipe sections, temporarily isolating facilities, establishing by-passes during work, and repairing leaks.

Line Stop is always performed after a Hot Tap is completed.

TS Site Services / Corrosion Monitoring

Yes, in order for us to perform corrosion monitoring, there must be access for mounting probes or coupons, and the choice of method depends on the medium, pressure, temperature and geometry. Our technicians always assess the best method before start-up.

Corrosion monitoring is a continuous survey of the material condition in pipes, tanks and process components. Often while the plant is in normal operation, the purpose is to detect degradation early and ensure safe and stable operation.

  • Corrosion monitoring is best suited for on- and offshore process plants, tanks, pipelines, heat exchangers and pressurized systems where continuous operation, safety and service life are critical factors.

We can deliver the service throughout the country, both onshore and offshore, regardless of the location of the facility or installation. TS Site Services also has experience in delivering internationally, and we take on assignments outside Norway's borders.

We present the findings in a report with corrosion rate, condition assessment and recommended measures. This provides a clear basis for further operation, prioritization and maintenance planning.

  • We use weight loss coupons, probes and advanced measurement systems adapted to what is transported in the pipe and the operating conditions.
  • Sampling and replacement can be carried out on-site and under pressure.
  • We supply equipment, installation, mapping, analysis and reporting.
  • Guidelines and methods are guided by needs, operations and safety.
  • Detects corrosion before it develops into damage.
  • Reduces the risk of leaks and unforeseen downtime.
  • Provides better planning of maintenance and service life extension.
  • Contributes to safe and predictable production over time.

TS Site Services / Leakage sealing

  • Yes, sealing during operation is a technically demanding operation and requires qualified professionals who conduct thorough risk assessments before implementation.
  • The method is not necessarily suitable for all types of faults and assessment must be made based on the nature of the leak, pressure, temperature and condition of the component.

Leak sealing during operation involves sealing leaks in process plants, for example in pipes, valves, flanges or heat exchangers without stopping production.

The service is suitable for all types of industrial facilities – onshore or offshore – where there are pipes, valves, flanges, heat exchangers or other equipment that can leak and where production downtime is costly or undesirable.

TS Site Services can seal leaks in pipes, flanges, heat exchangers, rotating equipment, welded joints, bolts/grooves, etc.

We have experience with, but are not limited to, steam, gas, liquids, hydrocarbons, as well as over 300 different chemicals.

The service can be used on systems with temperatures from minus 30 degrees Celsius to plus 600 degrees Celsius, and pressures up to 350 bar.

We can deliver the service throughout the country, both onshore and offshore, regardless of the location of the facility or installation.

We do our utmost to mobilize quickly and flexibly, and the service is part of our maintenance and modification offerings that cover both on- and offshore.

  • TS Site Services can perform the sealing using sealing clamps based on precise measurements and 3D designs or by injecting sealants directly into the leak area.
  • Before work begins, risks and a plan for sealing are assessed. The work is always carried out by experienced technicians with the right expertise.

After sealing, the work is quality assured through testing and inspection to verify that the leak has been stopped and the seal is secure and stable. We deliver this as a standard procedure.

  • It eliminates the need for production downtime, saving time and costs.
  • It reduces product and energy losses, and reduces emissions to the environment.
  • It extends the life of the plant's components.
