Bolt tensioning

Bolt tensioning

TS Site Services delivers controlled bolt pre-tensioning on-site, ensuring tight and reliable flange connections. Our technicians have extensive experience in both tension and torque tools, and all have been trained in flange work according to NS-EN 1594-1. With broad and interdisciplinary experience from both onshore and offshore facilities, we plan the work in a way that prevents unnecessary time and downtime.

More about the service

Yes. Bolt pre-tensioning requires compatible bolts and sufficient availability of hydraulic tools. In some cases, torque tightening will be more appropriate. Our technicians always evaluate the best method before starting.

Controlled bolt preload is a method of evenly tightening bolts. This provides a controlled tightening of flange connections and other critical joints. Either tension or torque equipment can be used.

  • Design with modern hydraulic pre-tensioning equipment.
  • The work is carried out by certified technicians, onshore and offshore.
  • Checking gasket surfaces, bolts and flanges before start-up.
  • Documented quality and safe implementation.
  • Flange connections in pipes and process plants.
  • Pressurized systems and highly critical connections.
  • Offshore installations, refineries and petrochemical plants.
  • Heat exchangers, tank systems and heavy industry in general.
  • Increased safety and stable operation.
  • Reduced risk of leakage and downtime.
  • Cost-effective for critical equipment and demanding uptime requirements.

We can deliver the service throughout the country, both onshore and offshore, regardless of the location of the facility or installation. TS Site Services also has experience in delivering internationally, and we take on assignments outside Norway's borders.

All prestressing is performed with calibrated equipment and documented prestressing force. After the work is completed, a visual inspection of the flange, gaskets and threads is performed, so that deliveries are safe and verifiable.

  • Provides more accurate and uniform preload in all bolts.
  • Reduces the risk of leakage and packing errors.
  • Particularly suitable for large bolts and pressurized systems.
  • Safe and effective method when operational reliability is crucial.
