The course Valve Technique 143 is now back in the TS Group course calendar. The relaunch is taking place in collaboration with IKM in Bergen and is aimed at personnel with practical responsibility for pressurized systems.
Valves do a far more important job than just opening and closing; they act as critical safety barriers that control everything from pressure to the direction of flow of gas and liquid. Incorrect handling can, in the worst case, lead to leaks and downtime – which is why training on functionality and operation is crucial.
When we now offer Valve Engineering 143 again, the goal is to give you the tools needed for a safer and more efficient workday. By learning proper maintenance and leak testing, you not only help extend the life of your equipment, but also help cut emissions and save your company unnecessary costs.
Technical content and practical approach
Over five days, the course provides an in-depth look at the most important valve groups used in the process industry. Particular emphasis is placed on:
- Construction and mechanics: How different valve types are constructed and their specific limitations.
- Barrier understanding: Requirements for tight barriers and practical implementation of leak testing.
- Maintenance: Identification of incipient leaks and correct operation in line with manufacturers' procedures.
- Environmental measures: Methods to reduce diffuse emissions and ensure that the facility operates within applicable emission requirements.
Industry requirements and target audience
Operating companies require documented competence for personnel who operate and maintain hydrocarbon-bearing systems. The course is therefore directly aimed at:
- Mechanics, process operators and supervisors.
- Responsible planners and engineers.
- Project and purchasing personnel responsible for valve selection.
Course details and implementation
The next course implementation starts on June 1, 2026 in Bergen, and a total of five dates have been set up in the future.
For companies with larger needs, the course can be held on-site at a desired location. This eliminates travel time for employees and allows the training to be tailored to the company's specific equipment and challenges.
Practical overview:
- Duration: 5 days (full work week).
- Location: Åsane, Bergen (in collaboration with IKM) or in-house.
- Next start: 01.06.2026
- For more dates: See course calendar.
