Join Terje and Kara at work

For mechanic Terje Hatle and controller Kara Kazm, TS Group stands for opportunities. The opportunity to live the life they want, where they want. The opportunity to use their expertise, to take responsibility and to develop. And the opportunity to get back on their feet when life hits them.

Nyhamna is located 15 kilometers outside Molde, on the island of Gossa.

The processing plant takes gas ashore from the Ormen Lange and Aasta Hansteen fields. Nyhamna is a critical part of Norwegian gas exports – and of Europe's energy security.

This places high demands on stability. Systems must function, machines must work. Outages can directly affect Norway's ability to deliver socially critical energy to our European neighbors.

Terje Hatle plays a key role here. The 55-year-old from Elnesvågen is on loan from TS Group to Shell Norge, the operator of Nyhamna. He is a trained machinist, but now works as a mechanic.

Terje does all the mechanical work at the facility. Preventive maintenance that ensures operations don't stop. Testing, repair work, corrective jobs, heavy lifting operations.

– There is a lot of variety, I like that. It is a big facility here and a lot is happening. We are working on big things, and it is a very nice place to be. The working environment here is fantastic, says Terje.

The mechanic started his career as a machinist on a fishing boat, and then worked on a ferry. In 2009, he became a senior technician at Shell. He worked shifts on floating production ships, a perfect job for a motor-loving outdoor enthusiast. He alternated between offshore life and life in Hustad with family, mountains, skiing and fishing.

In 2015, life was turned upside down. Terje became a widower. With sole responsibility for the children, the rotating life was no longer possible. Terje worked "regular" daytime hours until 2021.

– Then TS Group helped me offshore and back into the rotation life again. I have always enjoyed the rotation life, he says.

For three more years he combined offshore rotations with Romsdal's outdoor and coastal life at Vevang, before life turned upside down again. Acute illness sent him ashore.

This time too, TS Group helped him get back to work, now with "normal" working days as a mechanic for his old employer Shell Norge in Nyhamna, where there are a lot of personnel from TS Group.

When his work shift is over, he drives thirty kilometers further north than he usually does. To Vevang, at the end of the Atlantic Road.

Terje Hatle lives there with his partner on a small farm by the sea.

All around are mountains they can climb with randonné skis and mountain boots, a number of old buildings they can carpentry on, the marina a stone's throw away, and otherwise a landscape that invites activity.

– We are good at using the mountains. And we snorkel a lot, use electric bikes, we travel around a lot of places. It's fun. And then I bought a tractor and an excavator that I tinker with a bit, we have a boat and a cabin, and I go hunting a lot. Free time disappears, of course. It's absolutely amazing.

Now his health is so good that Terje has started to look out to sea again. And in 2026 he will once again be working as an engineer on a floating production vessel for Aker BP, leased from TS Group.

In 2025, Terje Hatle was one of the many skilled workers TS Group hired out to customers in the energy sector around the country. But the group does not only assist Norway's perhaps most important sector with personnel. They also contribute to stable operations both on and offshore through TS Site Services, and to improving and securing competence through TS Academy. In 2025, a total of 450 people were on the payroll of the TS Group group.

TS Group also represents opportunities for Kara Kazm.

The opportunity to develop in a good professional and social environment. To take responsibility. To be heard and to gain trust. The opportunity to move home.

The 25-year-old is a controller at the group's head office in her hometown of Porsgrunn. She landed the job after three years and a bachelor's degree in economics and administration from BI in Bergen.

The dream job, says Kara.

– I would like to return home to my family in Porsgrunn and at the same time have a career in a company where I could get a little more responsibility, that was important to me. TS Group is the best of both worlds, she says.

It's about, among other things, the breadth of tasks she has, the positive environment among her colleagues, collaboration across many locations, the opportunities she gets and, not least, the trust she and the other young people are shown.

– I get to have my say. My input and opinions are heard and taken seriously, even though I was only five years old when some of my colleagues started the company. That's probably an important part of the reason why I feel so comfortable here.

Kara also points to TS Group's growth as part of what makes working in administration exciting. When the company grows outwards, it also provides a lot of room for growth internally in the form of new tasks and new professional challenges.

TS Group's 20-year history is a story of growth built on quality, local presence and secure jobs. And the arrow still points in the same direction: up and forward. And Kara certainly plans to be on the journey.

– From the very first day, I got the feeling that this was right, and that I was part of something good.
