Competency requirements for certification
Anyone who will be managing or doing independent work (performing professional) on tubing systems with associated fittings must have completed approved training and passed an interactive test via the Trainingportal.
If you are going to work on fittings and tubing systems of types other than Swagelok, Gyrolok and Parker/A-Lok, you must also have supplier-approved training.
Contents
The course is based on Offshore Norway's guideline 143 - recommended guideline for training in work on hydrocarbon-bearing systems, and follows the curriculum and handbook in "Fittings and small bore tubing systems". The course will provide the participant with basic knowledge of the structure, operation, assembly, testing and maintenance of tubing systems with associated fittings. The course concludes with an online exam that documents the acquired competence.
From autumn 2025, a duration for the course will be introduced: The course will now have a duration of 5 years. After 5 years, the refresher course must be completed within 6 months. If the time limit is exceeded, the entire course must be taken again for the competence to be valid.
