Purpose

After the course, participants will:

• know regulations, rules and guidelines for work and entry permits in areas with fire and health hazardous products
• Operating principles and limitations for sensors that measure flammable gases, oxygen and gases hazardous to health
• know methods for degassing and cleaning facilities

• regulations for gas inspector approval
• operation of portable gas measuring instruments for use in gas measurements for HC and O2
• inspection and maintenance routines for the instruments
• fire and explosion theory
• %LEL measurement scale
• how the sensors work
• standards for atmospheric pollution
• risky and non-risky entry
• inerting procedure using N2; as well as ventilation for safe entry
• relevant procedures and instructions
• warning and communication as well as practical use of radio
• Action pattern in the event of unwanted incidents and work stoppages
• theoretical and practical group assignments (tests are done in our processing facility in our 10” container)

Study form and final exam
