The course ensures insight into relevant legislation and special rules that apply when working offshore. In addition, safety philosophy, types of injuries caused by electricity and treatment are covered. The selection of the right personal protective equipment is also covered. Theoretical first aid with special emphasis on electrical injuries and resuscitation.

Learning objectives:

Understand the requirements for those who will work in or near electrical installations, low and high voltage.
Review of specific requirements set out in the FSE
Know which government agencies make decisions offshore
Routines for marking and delimiting areas, including specifically for high voltage.
Requirements for work organization and competence requirements
Safety philosophy
Statistics and examples of accidents related to electrical work
Must have an understanding of the general principles of type protection and marking;
Understand the risks related to rescue in live facilities
Understand the importance of reporting accidents and near misses
First aid in case of accidents
Notification routines for accidents
