Correct use of lifting equipment, correct signaling and communication with the crane operator are crucial for safety in the workplace and for all personnel participating in lifting operations. Misjudgments can have major consequences and lead to serious injuries to crane operators, hookers, signalers and other personnel, as well as to material and surroundings.

The course contains theory module 1.1 and module 2.3 and provides basic safety training for hook/slingers and signalers. The course is intended for personnel who will use lifting equipment in their work and is also basic for anyone who will become a crane operator. For offshore, the course corresponds to O-1.1.

The course includes the following topics:

  • Laws and regulations
  • HSE – Health, Environment and Safety
  • Use of lifting tables
  • Signals and signs
  • Construction, use, inspection, marking, disposal, etc. of lifting equipment
  • Chain, fiber straps, steel ropes, shackles, eyebolts, etc.

The course concludes with a theoretical test and a Certificate of Competence is issued.
